"Therefore, let us offer through Jesus a continual sacrifice of praise to God, proclaiming our allegiance to his name. And don’t forget to do good and to share with those in need. These are the sacrifices that please God. Hebrews" 13:15-16 (NLT)
When you read the word, “sacrifice” in the Bible, what do you think of? In the Old Testament tradition you may think of the sacrificial offerings of animals. You may also think of sacrificial behaviours, in the sense of self-denial or the strict following of ritualistic traditions. But as we look at the scripture for today, we see the types of sacrifices that pleases God. What God is pleased with is when we praise Him for who He is and all the good He has done.
Another sacrifice that pleases God is when we give ourselves to Him. When we submit to Him our allegiance and live for Him.
Finally, when we do good and share with those in need. These are the sacrifices that are pleasing to God. Today, you can bring your sacrifice to God by praising Him, giving yourself in allegiance to Him and living for others. May you offer continually the sacrifices that are pleasing to God all the days of your life.
PRAYER
