"vAnd Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the Lord, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah. So Judah gathered together to ask help from the Lord; and from all the cities of Judah they came to seek the Lord." 2 Chronicles 20: 3-4
"God, help me" - three simple words that can be a powerful prayer. When we come to the end of our rope, when we're overwhelmed, and when we don't know what to do, we can cry out to God for help.
In Psalm 121:1-2, David writes, "I lift up my eyes to the mountains - where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth."
David knew that his help didn't come from himself or from others, but from God alone. And so can we. Whether we're facing a difficult decision, a challenging situation, or a personal struggle, we can call out to God for help.
And the good news is that God is always available to help us. He is our Refuge, our Rock, and our Savior. He promises to be with us always, to strengthen us, and to guide us.
So let's not hesitate to cry out to God for help. Like King Jehoshaphat and his people in our opening verse, ask God to help you and He will not fail you. Let's trust in His goodness, His love, and His power. Isaiah 50:7 says “For the Lord God will help Me; Therefore I will not be disgraced; Therefore I have set My face like a flint, And I know that I will not be ashamed.
PRAYER
Dear God, help me. I need Your strength, Your guidance, and Your love.
Thank You for being my Rock and my Refuge. In Jesus' name, Amen
